Russian Road/Lake Bohinj Part 2
Hello everybody! Wednesday morning we left the Lake Bohinj Airbnb and took the long ride back to do the Russian Road through the Vrsic Pass. I had already done it while Anna Maria was here, but I really wanted Sam and Harry to get to check out that road and it’s incredible views. I really didn’t mind doing it twice. They had a great time and they really enjoyed getting to wade around at my favorite spot on the Soca river on the other side of the pass.
When we got back to the Airbnb we got into some beers and just chilled out, but when the beer ran out the fellas had no choice but to let me pour them a glass of my signature drink – bourbon and ice – something they had fiercely resisted the whole trip. 😂 It was a fun night, but we were a little slow to get moving this morning to say the least.
This afternoon I took them to Lake Bohinj to relax, feed the fish and ducks some bread, and take it easy for about an hour.
After we finished up at the lake, we made the hour long ride back to the hostel in Ljubliana where we rested up for a bit. We decided to go to the Union Brewery for dinner, since Union beer was everybody’s favorite in Slovenia.
Sadly, Harry is taking off early in the morning on a train back home to Germany. Harry is one of my favorite people in the world, and I will surely miss the laughs that come with having him around – but I know I will catch him again either in another country during my trip if he can make it happen or for sure when I return to Germany before flying home!
Sam and I are off to a hostel at Plitvice National Park, Croatia in the morning. We are looking forward to the 4 hour road trip through Eastern Slovenia and Northeastern Croatia and to some hiking in the park on Friday. I’ll talk to you guys soon!
